Trident has announced the introduction of a new 3.5in SubCompact Single Board Computer (SBC) to its range of embedded solutions. This new generation SBC offers a versatile and compact answer to industrial, retail, medical, transportation, display and gaming applications.
The new full-featured AAEON GENE-5315 available from Trident offers low power consumption for superior reliability in applications that are powered for long periods of time or are unmanned. These could include kiosks, POS / POI terminals, digital signage displays, factory floor and multimedia devices. This new SBC supports CRT and LCD screens simultaneously, benefiting display systems which include both and eliminating the need for expensive upgrades.
Additional features have been designed-in to create a complete user-friendly solution. These include two 10/100Base-T ports to enable simple networking, four configured USB2.0 sockets, 8-bit Digital I/O, IrDA and parallel port together with a Type III Mini PCI socket and PC/104 socket for further expansion. Further, the board offers support of CRT/LCD simultaneous displays of up to 24-bit TTL / LVDS TFT LCD.
The GENE-5315 incorporates an onboard AMD Geode LX 800 (LX 700 optional) processor and the system memory is deployed with SODIMM DDR 333/400 supporting up to 1GB and 512 MB for DDR 400.
