3M Offers Multi-touch Capabilities for Windows 7
3M Touch Systems, has announced that its Projected Capacitive and Surface Capacitive touch screen products have achieved the "Compatible with Windows 7" logo. Engineered to be seamlessly integrated with the Windows 7 operating system, these 3M touch screens help application developers and customers take advantage of the operating system's new touch interface. 3M Projected Capacitive touch technology has received Windows Touch Additional Qualification (AQ) status for multi-touch interactivity by meeting 100% of the testing criteria. This 3M touch technology offers Windows 7 developers "true" multi-touch functionality with 10-finger simultaneous touch capability for real-world multi-finger and multi-user applications. This technology is currently available as a 19-inch multi-touch developer's kit.
GPEG - TFT display offers wide viewing angle
GPEG has announced its latest TFT display the FDT042 4.2 inch WQVGA module, a touch screen option, wide temperature range and availability for up to 5 years. This 4.2 inch WQVGA (432x240) resolution TFT has an exclusive option of software selectable operation in either landscape or portrait mode giving designers greater freedom of choice during the design process. With a viewing area of 97.48mm x 50.1mm the TFT will display 262k colours using the integrated ILI9326 driver chip.

Sharp new five-primary-color LCD for faithful color reproduction
Sharp has prototyped a five-primary-color display that faithfully reproduces the real surface colors that humans are capable of perceiving. The pixel structure of the new type of panel is based on five-colors adding the colors C (cyan) and Y (yellow) to the three standard R (red), G (green), and B (blue) color set. This combination expands the color gamut that can be rendered within the color spectrum that humans can discern with the unaided eye, and enables the new display type to reproduce more than 99 percent of real surface colors. Nearly all real surface colors can be rendered faithfully, even those like the color of the sea (emerald blue), brass instruments (golden yellow), and roses (crimson red), that have been difficult to render using conventional RGB color scheme.
