Field Sequential Color (FSC) – Segment Displays Get TN displays now in color

Data Modul announced a cost-effective alternative for monochrome TN segment and icon displays looking to transition to color. With Field Sequential Color (FSC) display technology, it displays individual segments in up to 7 colors. Red, green, blue, cyan, magenta, yellow and also black.

Field Sequential Color (FSC) – Segment Displays Get TN displays now in color FSCLCD’s feature integrated RGB LED backlights and a COG LCD controller IC. The IC controls both, the LCD as well as the backlight in order to provide simple color programming for each individual segment / icon.

FSC LCD’s are ideally suited for applications that need to migrate from monochromatic to color displays as a low cost alternative to full-color graphic TFT and CSTN technology.

Applications include alarm clocks, remote control units, industrial meter units, home appliance control units, as well as medical devices.
