Dual Tier SCOUT Interface Sets New Standard for Large Switching Applications

News Release from: MAC Panel Company
27 April 2012

MAC Panel introduces a Dual Tier SCOUT interface to compliment the popular SCOUT interface line. The new interface features all the performance benefits of SCOUT and provides connectivity for two 18-slot PXI chassis with support for up to 8,400 I/O points and 8 external wiring slots.

All SCOUT interfaces feature Direct Access Technology, an innovative pull-thru mass interconnect solution specifically designed to deliver the full performance of the PXI platform. Direct Access Technology enables system designers to limit or eliminate traditional cabling by introducing a cutting-edge pull-through interface adapter - called a Direct Access Kit (DAK).

Through the utilization of fully enclosed PCBs or fixed-wire connectivity solutions, DAKs allow for easy removal and addition of individual PXI instrumentation with no adverse effect on other system components. Furthermore, DAKs mitigate capacitance, signal crosstalk and other attenuation issues that plague conventional cable based ATE. The result is increased performance with a far higher degree of stability and up time.
