Measurement Computing introduces Message-Based DAQ protocolMeasurement Computing has announced the release of two new data acquisition products featuring a new O/S-independent protocol that allows DAQ devices to be programmed with simple text-based messages. A new 7000 series product line, which includes the USB-7202 and USB-7204 boards, combines small form-factor, bus-powered USB hardware, and a light and agile software framework that can be ported to multiple operating systems. The software framework, a core technology to the series, is called Message-Based DAQ (MBD).

National Instruments - USB Device and Sensor Suite for Sound and Vibration ApplicationsNational Instruments has announced a new portable bus-powered dynamic signal acquisition (DSA) module and a suite of vibration sensors that are ideal for making high-accuracy vibration measurements required for noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) and machine condition monitoring applications. The NI USB-4431 DSA module acquires data at rates from 1 to 102.4 kS/s, which makes it possible to obtain a wide measurement bandwidth. National Instruments Introduces High-Density Thermocouple Module for Data AcquisitionNational Instruments has announced the NI 9213, which adds high-density thermocouple measurements to the NI C Series platform. Using the NI 9213, engineers can create a compact, modular data acquisition system to collect data from up to 16 independent thermocouples. The NI 9213 takes up less space than standard instrumentation in a measurement system and provides more channels for measurement with a sampling rate of 75 samples/second per channel, making the device both compact and efficient for high-channel systems. 
Measurement Computing launches a new high-accuracy expansion module for the USB-2416 seriesMeasurement Computing today announced the release of a new series of highly accurate, multifunction measurement and control modules for the USB bus. The USB-2416 and the USB-2416-4AO are 24-bit, analog input devices for voltage or temperature, with eight digital I/O lines and two counters. The USB-2416-4AO model also features four analog outputs. An optional expansion module, the AI-EXP32, doubles the analog input capacity of either of the USB-2416 series modules. 
National Instruments Expands Wireless and Ethernet Data Acquisition PlatformNational Instruments has announced six new wireless and Ethernet data acquisition modules and two ingress protection enclosures for remote monitoring and control in harsh environments. The new modules combine high-voltage digital I/O and IEEE 802.11b/g (Wi-Fi) or Ethernet communication to remotely monitor and control actuators such as pumps, valves and relays. Engineers and scientists can use these and other NI Wi-Fi or Ethernet devices with the NI 9921 and NI 9922 IP enclosures to protect their equipment from dust particles and splashing water or rain in outdoor or industrial environments. 
Software adds new functionality to Yokogawa's PC-based data-acquisition systemNew acquisition and utility software has been introduced to add additional functionality and ease of use to the Yokogawa SL1000 PC-based data-acquisition system. Extra functionality provided by the software includes the ability to link and synchronise multiple SL1000 units, new triggering and display capabilities, support for the Windows Vista operating system, waveform interpolation and CSV file conversion. Automatic Wireless NEMA4 Industrial I/O Pair from ACCES I/O ProductsACCES I/O Products has announced an addition to its line of wireless data acquisition products - Model WWP-IIRO-8. This product features a pair of intelligent 16-channel digital I/O units that communicate directly with each other. Each unit contains 8 Form C (SPDT) electromechanical relays and 8 optically isolated digital inputs. When an isolated input is toggled on one of the units it will cause the corresponding relay to switch on the other unit. No software or PC connection is required as this solution is completely self-contained and operates autonomously. 
High-Density Strain and High-Voltage Modules from NINational Instruments has announced the expansion of its C Series data acquisition family with the NI 9225 300 V power measurement module as well as the NI 9235 and NI 9236 eight-channel strain gage measurement modules. These modules are supported on NI C Series-based devices including the NI CompactDAQ plug-and-play data acquisition system, NI CompactRIO rugged control and acquisition system and NI Single-Board RIO embedded design devices. These three new modules expand the C Series I/O platform to more than 40 modules and add power quality testing capabilities. Strategic Test's 16-channel 500 kS/s 16-bit data acquisition cards for PCI ExpressStrategic Test Corp. has announced two new 500 kS/s 16-bit data acquisition cards for PCI Express. The UF2e-4731 has 16 analog inputs and the UF2e-4730 has 8 inputs. Unique features include the options for dual-timebase sampling, synchronous digital inputs, asynchronous digital I/O and the ability to synchronize hundreds of channels.
