DC/DC converters give 15W from a 1 x 1 x 0.4in package

Powersolve announces a new generation of isolated, high performance 15W DC/DC converters in a package that is 50% smaller than competitive products.

Designated the THD-15 series and manufactured by Traco, the new devices are packaged in an ultra compact encapsulated module measuring just 25.4 x 25.4 x 10.0mm (1.0 x 1.0 x 0.4 in) and feature industry standard pinouts.
The series comprises eight models. Four are available with tightly regulated output voltages of 3.3, 5, 12 and 15VDC and four are dual output models with ±12VDC and ±15VDC. Input voltage range is 18 to 36VDC or 36 to 75VDC.

Input/output isolation is specified at 1500V and complies with EN/UL 60950. An integral I/O filter minimizes the need for external filtering.

Thanks to high efficiency levels of up to 87%, the new converters feature an operating temperature range of –25°C to +71°C.

Other features of the THD-15 series include remote On-Off, overload protection and full RoHS compliance.
