TI introduces high-temperature transceivers for oil exploration equipment

News Release from: Texas Instruments
21 January 2009

Two new ceramic-packaged transceivers from Texas Instruments enable data communication in high-temperature applications. The devices feature no thermal shutdown, meeting the demanding requirements of oil exploration applications, such as downhole drilling. The SN65HVD11SJD 3.3-V single, half-duplex RS-485 transceiver and the SN65HVD233SJD 3.3-V CAN transceiver are the first two parts for an extended temperature range of -55C to 210C to be released from TI and are from a complete signal chain and power roadmap targeting applications operating in harsh environments. Future products will include data acquisition, processing and power managment devices.
