Littelfuse Introduces SP1005 and SP1007 Series Bidirectional 0201 TVS Diodes for ESD Protection
Littelfuse announced the introduction of the SP1005 and SP1007 Series today. Both series are discrete bidirectional TVS diodes for ESD protection measuring only 0.62x0.32x0.28mm. The SP1005 (30pF @ 0V) offers up to ±30kV ESD protection and 10A (tP=8/20µs) of surge protection with only 0.7Ω of dynamic resistance, providing best-in-class clamping performance. The SP1007 (3.5pF @ 2.5V) can withstand up to ±8kV ESD, which protects up to the maximum level of the IEC61000-4-2 international standard.
Littelfuse - 215SP Series 5x20mm Time-Lag Fuse with Single-Pigtail Design
Littelfuse has introduced the 215SP Series fuse, a single pigtail fuse that complements Littelfuse's line of traditional pigtail fuses. Unlike the existing 215 Series, the 215SP Series fuse has one cap at each terminal side, rather than double caps at each side. By doing away with conventional overcapping, Littelfuse was able to offer a ceramic-body fuse with a more compact footprint in the 5x20mm size.

Linear Technology introduced the LTC4365, an overvoltage (OV), undervoltage (UV) and reverse protection controller, with a -40V to 60V protection range, for applications that require windowed supply protection. The LTC4365 provides two comparator inputs to configure the OV and UV set points within the normal operating range of 2.5V to 34V using an external resistive divider. A gate pin controls a dual N-channel MOSFET to ensure only voltages within the OV and UV window are passed to the output.

Integrated 5Amp MOSFET & RSENSE Provides Highly Integrated Hot Swap Solution
Linear Technology introduced the LTC4219 5A Hot Swap controller for protecting low power boards with load supply voltages ranging from 2.9V to 15V. The LTC4219 allows a board to be safely inserted and removed from a live backplane by limiting the amount of inrush current to the load supply during power up. Hot Swap controllers typically call for a number of supporting components. However, the LTC4219 integrates a power MOSFET and sense resistor in its power path to limit inrush current, reducing the number of external components required. The device's internal dV/dt circuit means there is no need for an external gate capacitor. An adjustable current limit allows users to vary the current limit threshold under different loading conditions, for example in disk drive spin-up to normal operation. This high level of integration, packaged in a tiny DFN, makes the LTC4219 a convenient Hot Swap solution in space-constrained applications.

NXP Semiconductors today announced the extension of its Transient Voltage Suppressor (TVS) diodes portfolio by 35 new products housed in its 2-lead FlatPower package SOD128 (3.8 x 2.5 x 1 mm). NXP is the first supplier to offer a 600W peak pulse power rating (10/1000μs) TVS diode in such a small plastic SMD package. Alternative 600W TVS products in the market are only available in much larger packages like SMA or SMB. The new SOD128 FlatPower package fits on a SMB footprint allowing a 1:1 replacement and enabling engineers to save space on the PCB while delivering optimum power performance.

Overvoltage events can occur due to power adapter failure or faults, or when hot-plugging an AC adapter into a device's power input. Inadvertently plugging the wrong power adapter into a device can potentially cause damage from overvoltage or negative supply voltage. The LTC4362 utilizes a 2% accurate 5.8V overvoltage threshold to detect an overvoltage event and responds quickly within 1µs (max) to isolate the downstream components from the input.
