Specialized integrated mass transit connectors detailed in ITT application note

A new application note from ITT Interconnect Solutions describes customer-requested solutions for mass-transit applications that require complex integrated interconnects. Based on VEAM connectors, such integrated components include complete harnessing systems such as junction box assemblies that integrate directly into mass-transit vehicle designs. VEAM interconnects are available in an array of shell sizes and contact arrangements to meet the most demanding requirements.

Leveraging their strong presence in the mass-transit markets, ITT Interconnect Solutions developed the capability to provide customers with such integrated interconnect solutions and are able to act as a single source across a wide gamma of needs — from mere connector, through to a complete junction box. Typical applications include control switchboard connection between vehicles, tilting system, CCTV equipment, inter-vehicle connections, power and signal lines and motor supply up to 660 A.

Made to custom requirements, VEAM integrated interconnects take advantage of ITT Interconnect Solutions’ full product portfolio and achieve IP66 level protection against ingress for the entire system. Both signal and power contacts up to 400A are available. Complete systems are tested to electrical and vibration/shock specifications.
