ITT Interconnect Solutions establishes European Centre of Excellence for Military & Aerospace customers in UK

ITT Interconnect Solutions - Cannon, Veam & BIW, has created a centre of excellence for military and aerospace customers at its Basingstoke facility in the UK. The company has significantly increased its engineering and sales capabilities dedicated to this important European sector to service the increasing complexity of customisation required by the latest defence and aeronautical programs.

Explains Nick Bailey, Product Manager, ITT Interconnect Solutions: “More and more we are being approached to deliver special configurations and adaptations of our standard connector products. Examples of recent customisations include D38999 connectors with shortened bodies; D38999s that mount directly onto a PCB; special backshells that fit into space-restricted enclosures; and a wide variety of different contacts and platings.”

Currently, ITT Interconnect Solutions is working to deliver parts for the VIS military communications program and also the MRAP (Mine Resistant Armoured Protection) vehicle. Its Basingstoke Military & Aerospace Centre of Excellence also includes a cable assembly facility approved to ISO9001.
