Fully welded equipment chests from Strongbox

Strongbox all-steel, fully welded equipment chests, designed to provide a rugged and low-cost, portable housing at a fraction of the price of a standard instrument rack, are now available in a range of wood grain effect finishes that make them ideal for environments where aesthetics are important. They are likely to be used in applications such as broadcast production suites and as housings for music systems in bars, clubs and other entertainment establishments.

The extremely realistic effect is achieved by using special powder coatings and can vary from light oak and beech to dark mahogany shades. Depending on the application, either the whole chest or just the front panel can be treated.

All chests in the Strongbox range are 555mm wide and are either 550mm or 350mm deep. The 550mm deep version is supplied in heights of 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, 21 or 24U while the smaller unit is available in 6, 9 or 12U.

The sides and top of the enclosure are fixed and the rear panel is divided into two halves that can be adjusted and cut to optimise cable access. Carrying handles are incorporated into the sides of the chests making them easily portable and ideal for small AV systems, background music systems and other applications where space is limited.
