Agilent Technologies Inc. today reported revenues of $1.38 billion for the third fiscal quarter ended July 31, 2010, 31 percent above one year ago, or 24 percent excluding the effects of the Varian acquisition and recent divestitures(2). Third quarter GAAP net income was $205 million, or $0.58 per diluted share. Last year's third quarter GAAP net loss was $19 million, or ($0.06) per share.
ON Semiconductor Reports Second Quarter of 2010 Results
ON Semiconductor Corporation (Nasdaq: ONNN) today announced that total revenues in the second quarter of 2010 were $583.3 million, an increase of approximately 6 percent from the first quarter of 2010. During the second quarter of 2010, the company reported GAAP net income of $78.7 million, or $0.18 per fully diluted share. The second quarter 2010 GAAP net income included net charges of $24.7 million, or $0.06 per fully diluted share, from special items. Also included in the operating expenses during the second quarter of 2010 was approximately $4 million of acquisition related expenses. Fairchild Semiconductor (NYSE: FCS), a leading global supplier of high performance power and mobile products, today announced that on July 30, 2010 it voluntarily prepaid its B-1 incremental term loan of $121.6 million. The incremental B-1 loan, under its existing senior credit facility, had an interest rate of Libor + 2.50 percent. Ramtron Reports 2Q2010 Financial Results
U.S. semiconductor maker Ramtron International Corporation (Nasdaq: RMTR), a leading developer and supplier of ferroelectric-based low-power memory and integrated semiconductor products, today reported that total revenue grew 66% to $18.3 million for the second quarter of 2010, compared with $11.0 million for the same quarter last year. Net income for the second quarter of 2010 was $357,000, or $0.01 per share, compared with a net loss of $302,000, or $(0.01) per share, for the second quarter of 2009. Second-quarter 2010 results included stock-based compensation expense of $409,000, and an income tax provision of $210,000. Product gross margin for the second quarter of 2010 was 49%, compared with 47% for the second quarter of 2009.
Maxwell Technologies Reports Second Quarter Financial Results
Maxwell today reported revenue of $29.6 million for its second quarter ended June 30, 2010, up 19 percent over the $24.8 million recorded in the same period in 2009. BOOSTCAP® ultracapacitor revenue increased by 48 percent, to $15.9 million in Q210, compared with $10.7 million for the same period last year. Sales of high voltage capacitor and microelectronics products totaled $13.7 million in Q210, down 2 percent from the $14.0 million recorded in Q209.

Cadence Design Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: CDNS) today announced results for the second quarter of fiscal year 2010. Cadence reported second quarter 2010 revenue of $227 million, compared to revenue of $210 million reported for the same period in 2009. National Instruments Reports Record Q2 Revenue and Operating Income
National Instruments (Nasdaq: NATI) reported quarterly revenue for Q2 2010 of $212 million, representing a 39 percent year-over-year increase and an 11 percent sequential increase. For the first half of 2010, the company reported a 30 percent increase in revenue and a 15 percent increase in non-GAAP operating expenses, compared to the first half of 2009. GAAP operating expenses grew by 14 percent in the first half of 2010, compared to the first half of 2009.
