News Release from:
09 May 2012
MindTree and KPN have announced a partnership to jointly invest in a flexible cloud services aggregator platform for enterprise customers. The two service partners, KPN and MindTree with complementary core competencies have extended their strategic partnership that started in 2010 with the purpose of delivering best-of-breed services and solutions, state-of-the-art infrastructure and new technology solutions.
The new platform brings specific catalogue products, KPN and third party product and customer legacy applications on a single platform and delivers them ‘as a service’ to enterprises globally. This technology and business partnership is underpinned with a strategically important contract between the two, with a mutual beneficial business model for commercial innovation. ‘Cloud Services Aggregation’ enables KPN and MindTree to bundle top of the bill and third party services, tapping into the main business drivers that CIO’s, business managers and end users focus on.
“The KPN cloud aggregation and delivery platform leverages our telecommunications and IT expertise and helps us deliver on our strategy to converging information technology and telecommunications and to optimise opportunities for our customers,” said Steven van Schilfgaarde, CEO KPN Corporate Market. “As KPN we leverage our extended partner eco-system that supports our challenger strategy outside the Netherlands. It fits with the tradition of an eco-system strategy and focus in which partners help us with our global reach and additional cloud services capabilities. MindTree is a leading example of this strategy. As KPN we will target the Dutch market, MindTree is our business partner of choice for customers not only in Europe but throughout the globe.”
“KPN has shown leadership and vision in its commitment to delivering this sophisticated aggregation platform for enterprises,” said Krishnakumar Natarajan, CEO and managing director, MindTree Limited. “Our cloud strategy is aligned with the business objectives of our customers and through this joint innovation programme, we aim to deliver business enabling applications and services to our customers along with unique benefits such as unified contract, single sign-on and centralised governance.”
A new and emerging business model, often referred to as a cloud services broker allows IT and telecom services providers an opportunity to expand and optimise their service offerings through a platform that helps enterprises converge and manage cloud and non-cloud services.
