News Release from: Molex UK
10 November 2007

Molex and Amphenol TCS (ATCS) have signed a cross license / second-source licensing agreement that gives ATCS the right to manufacture, market and sell the I-Trac Backplane Connector System worldwide. Molex is pleased to announce this latest development in the Molex-ATCS relationship," said Martin Slark, Chief Executive Officer of Molex. "The technology behind our I-Trac design offers users unmatched versatility and performance. By partnering with ATCS we will be able to expand the availability of this leading technology throughout the industry."

Molex Signs Amphenol as Second-Source for Backplane Interconnect FamilyThe I-Trac license agreement further illustrates the Molex and ATCS relationship established in the high-speed backplane connector market, beginning with ATCS's HDM® connector family and extending to include its industry-leading VHDM®, VHDM-HSD™ and GbX® high-speed, high-density connector platforms. The two companies will work jointly to deliver truly intermateable, interchangeable products by sharing design and manufacturing processes. The I-Trac product will be promoted as an extension of the ATCS GbX product family.

The I-Trac Backplane Connector System features a broadside-coupled, skew equalised design capable of data rates up to 12Gbps. With its multiple benefits, including superior impedance control, lower cross-talk and higher overall bandwidth designed for both traditional and orthogonal architectures, I-Trac meets the growing demands of the next generation telecommunications and data networking equipment manufactures. The I-Trac connector system is currently available from Molex in 7, 11 and 15-row versions, with a complete breadth of guidance and power options.
