Analog Devices Introduces Digital Isolator with Integrated Transformer Driver and PWM Controller
Analog Devices introduced a digital isolator with an integrated transformer driver and PWM (pulse-width modulation) controller in a single package. The integration of these components into a small, surface mount 20-lead SSOP (shrink small outline package) enables the new four-channel digital isolator to reduce board space by up to 30 percent and achieve cost reductions of 10 percent while simplifying the development of systems requiring isolated data and power. The product enables designers to implement an isolated dc-to-dc converter that provides up to 2 watts of regulated, isolated power at 3.3 V to 30 V from a 5.0-V input supply or 3.3-V supply. Analog Devices™ new ADuM347x digital isolators are ideal for applications that require isolated data and isolated power, including data acquisition, industrial process control using Fieldbus, and building control. Each LNA features three programmable gain states, allowing customers to dynamically adjust linearity and sensitivity to optimize system performance in the face of varying input-signal strengths. If interference from adjacent signals is particularly high, as is often the case with mobile devices, the gain can be increased to maintain optimum blocker performance. Linear Technology introduced the LTC6409, a fully differential amplifier capable of driving DC to 100MHz signals with just 1.1nV/√Hz noise and -88dBc HD2/HD3 distortion. Built on an advanced SiGe BiCMOS process, the LTC6409 features 10GHz gain-bandwidth product, 100dB SFDR up to 40MHz, and 1% settling time of 1.9ns. It is ideal for driving the latest high speed ADCs such as the 1.8V 14-bit 150Msps LTC2262-14. The LTC6409 features wide input common mode range of 0V to 3.5V and output common mode range of 0.5V to 3.5V when using a single 5V supply, making it easy to interface ground-referenced signals to differential pipeline ADCs.

Simple, Accurate & Tiny PWM Clock Covers 3.81Hz to 1MHz
Linear Technology has announced the LTC6992 silicon oscillator, the latest member of the TimerBlox family of silicon timing devices. The LTC6992 offers simple and accurate pulse width modulation (PWM) capability for output frequencies from 3.81Hz to 1MHz. The device's frequency is programmed using 1 to 3 resistors, with guaranteed frequency error less than 1.7%. In addition, the frequency can be dynamically controlled via a separate control voltage. The output pulse width (duty cycle) is simply controlled with an analog signal from 0 to 1V. The LTC6992 offers glitch-free, first cycle accurate startup within 500us of power on.

STMicroelectronics has unveiled details of its I/O Hub (IOH) specifically designed to work with the Intel Atom processor E6xx series in automotive In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) systems. Called ConneXt, the device connects to the Intel Atom processor E6xx series (formerly codenamed Tunnel Creek) using the industry-standard PCI Express (PCIe) interconnection technology and will enable richer experiences for the driver and passengers. For example, a typical next-generation system will simultaneously provide the driver with applications such as 3D navigation and hands-free cell phone use, while the passengers are using the Internet or playing games on different, multiple displays.

Texas Instruments today introduced a high-linearity, low-distortion, fully-differential operational amplifier (op amp) that delivers 16-bit full-scale precision up to 200 MHz IF to maximize signal chain performance for wireless base stations, high-speed data acquisition, test and measurement, medical imaging and defense applications. The THS770006 op amp has an output third-order intercept (OIP3) of 48 dBm and the lowest distortion in its class, with a third-order intermodulation distortion (IMD3) of -107 dBc at 100 MHz, at least 14 dB better than competitive amplifiers.

Avago Technologies Completes Next Generation of Low Noise Amplifiers for Cellular and LTE Base Stations with MGA-635P8
Avago announced the availability of its MGA-635P8 ultra low-noise amplifier (LNA) for base station (BTS) RF front-end design. The MGA-635P8 can be used in a variety of cellular applications, such as: first stage of cellular base station transceiver radio cards, tower mounted amplifiers (TMA), combiners, repeaters and remote/digital radio heads.
