Ecopac Power has announced the release of the ECO-160 series open frame Ultra High Density power supply with 20W/in³ power density in a 2x4x1 footprint. The ECO-160 is a compact and low profile 160W AC/DC power supply ideal for applications and designs where space is at a premium. With 90% efficiency and a no load power consumption of less than 2.3W, it provides one of the highest efficiencies and power densities available from an open frame power supply of this size.

High Density open frame AC/DC power supply now available from Ecopac PowerThe single output power supply is available in 5v, 12v, 24v and 48v versions all supplied with a 12v 1 amp auxiliary output. With universal input 90 Vac to 265 Vac and an operating temperature range of –20ºC to +70ºC providing up to 160 watts of output power with air-cooling and 100W output power without airflow.

The ECO-160 series are ideal for applications that require power factor correction with very high efficiencies and low off load requirements. All models have a peak load capability that can provide 130% of rated output power for a maximum of 30 seconds. With a 3,000 Vac input to output isolation and protections include over-temperature, over current, and over-voltage.

The ECO-160 series is medically approved and meets VDE Approval, which is essential for distributing power supplies into Europe. VDE is the German regulatory agency that tests power supplies to the specific safety and performance standards required in Germany. VDE standards are generally regarded as the most stringent standards enforced and are widely considered to be the “must have” approval to sell power supplies in Europe.

In addition the ECO-160 series has EN55022, class B for conducted and radiated EMC UL, c-UL for EN60950, IEC60950, UL/c-UL 60950 EN60601-1, IEC60601 and UL/c-UL 60601-1 safety standards. The ECO-160 meets the following EMC standards: conducted EMI EN55022 Class B, EN60601-1-2, Voltage Fluctuation EN61000-3-3, ESD EN61000-4-2
