500W AC/DC Power Supply suits Rugged Industrial Environments

News Release from: Absopulse Electronics Ltd.
01 June 2011

The HBC 500 industrial quality ac/dc power supply series generates 500W output power from a compact 132 x 64 x 300 mm enclosure. The power supplies have two output terminals: a 'redundant' terminal via a built-in redundancy diode and 'non-redundant', which is direct. Voltage on the 'redundant' output is 24Vdc/20A, 48Vdc/10A or 125V/4A; on the 'direct' terminal, the output voltage is one diode drop higher (i.e. 24.7V/20A etc). The units can be used in redundant parallel mode or for battery charging on the 'redundant' output. The 'direct' output can be used for monitoring or for precision regulation (< 1%). A 'direct'/'redundant' combination is also possible for special applications. The input accepts 230Vac/115Vac or 220V to 370Vdc. Other input and output values are also available.

500W AC/DC Power Supply suits Rugged Industrial EnvironmentsThese rugged power supplies meet EN61373/IEC61373 shock and vibration standards; additional ruggedizing and conformal coating are available for operation in extreme environments. The series is filtered to meet EN 55022 Class A EMI with wide margins, and it is designed to meet EN 60950 and related standards. Protection features include inrush current limiting, surge and reverse polarity protection on the input. Output protection includes current limiting with short-circuit protection (no hiccup) and thermal shutdown with self-resetting. Efficiency is between 80% and 87%, depending on the output configuration.
